Insuring safe, wholesome egg and dairy products is of upmost importance to our company and our employees.

We have in place pest and rodent control programs paired with bio-security measures to maintain high levels of food safety. Our egg producers and milk processors take part in the Food Marketing Institute’s (FMI) comprehensive Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, which covers all parts of the food supply chain. SQF standards for eggs and dairy encompass production, processing, packaging and shipping.

We know what it takes to provide our customers fresh, premium-quality eggs and milk products, produced and processed to the highest quality and safety standards; we have been doing it for over 60 years. We are committed to protecting the integrity of all our products and the Happy Chicken and Merry Milk Maid brands through a comprehensive approach to avoiding all known risks.

Our refrigeration systems are constantly monitored at several points in both the medium temperature cooler and the freezer. All critical points are internally, and central station alarmed for both high and low temps and backed up with twin electrical manual transfer switches in the event of power outage.

As a wholesale distributor, we understand that we cannot make the products received into our facilities any better, but we can certainly erode from the wholesomeness without strict internal quality control systems. The culture is to stay totally focused on the three “C’s”; CLEAN – COLD – CODE (dates). Our warehouse staff and drivers are well trained professionals who are schooled on the importance of food safety and understand our corporate commitment to the same.

The latest FSMA 204 rules on traceability will be enforced starting January 2026, we had tools in place in September 2024!
